Hubble’s Biggest Day Ever in history!

1. What is a black hole and how it works?

Black holes are large regions of space that have such a strong gravitational pull that no matter or light can escape from it and it is impossible to see what is inside.

The first image of a black hole was captured by the Hubble Space Telescope in 1995. In that image, four stars were orbiting around a supermassive black hole at the center of a nearby galaxy named Messier 87. These four stars appeared to be extremely close to one another and it looked like they were all bright because they were coming from the same point – meaning they were all going towards the center of this black hole at once, which created an intense gravitational field
